I am a visitor to your site and spent a few minutes on here reviewing some issues.

One issue you have on your site is  MARRIAGE EQUALITY.  I happen to be gay.

Is no one gay in this party who cares about the gay community? Why hasn't anyone brought this up?

The Maryland  Governor had just passed Gay Marriage.

Gays deserve rights in all fifty states. Even in states that have Gay Marriage there is still hatred and inequality.

Are you not fighting for the rights of people?

Well, I for one don't buy it. Come on people will this guy Rocky really give you gay rights?  Utah does not even have gay marriage and if he was so open to it as he claims he is then why has Utah not brought up gay marriage on the ballot. When he was mayor why hasn't he done it back then. Gays were fighting since Stone Wall in NYC and just recently NY past gay marriage. This was because the current governor forced it. No one cares about gays and humanity. What makes me think this party does? I am not convinced. Especially someone from a state known to be  red and non progressive. Get a grip on society! People in this country have no regard for anyone other then themselves

The so called liberals and progressives are such flakes and fakes just like the conservatives.

Read his Wikipedia  entry to get to know him a bit? Your right Utah is VERY red, and he still supported gay rights.  That requires a stronger more consistent belief in the issue than supporting it in a blue state.

State Senator Chris Buttars of West Jordan publicly denounced former Mayor Rocky Anderson for having "attracted the entire gay community to come and live in Salt Lake County" after a Dan Jones poll indicated strong support for allowing domestic partnerships. In the 2004 election, 63% of the city population voted against banning same-sex marriage, in agreement with Mayor Anderson.

Hi,

1) no one can really understand what a gay person is going through unless they are gay.
2)Gays know what is happening within their own community

3) Why is it that I don't see anyone even commenting on helping gays?

Can anyone explain a single problem in the gay community?

Thought so!. Please don't insult us without knowing about us.

This lesbian is outraged. Where are the gays in your party that can help?

Cher is not gay but she went to gay places, connected with gays and offered her ear too listen. Even though here daughter is gay, she still participated. Has anyone tried that here?  I assume none of you really know what your talking about.

I'm sorry, was I insulting?  If so please tell me where.

I think Rocky has a good record, on this issue, and the Human Rights Campaign has commended his work. I took for granted the parties stance of fighting for equality.  I imagine I wasn't the only one.  Bring up what needs discussed.

If there is something, you feel I, or others, don't understand, teach us. Leed.
You know the problems better than I.

If you want me to go to gay places and connect with gays, in order to understand, I can tell you I was one of very few straight males that worked at a gay friendly bar, have had many gay friends, been the only straight person at a party more than once, and work at a psychiatric hospital where I often counsel teens struggling with their sexual orientation or gender identity.  My desire to help is sincere.

Hey Josh, don't let it bother you. I can't believe the animosity of some people. I have gay friends. I am an an open minded straight person. However, she does have a point. Event though, we are not gay, there is some truth about it. Some issues we can't help with. I had this same discussion at a party once in Texas with a friend. His complaint was you don't live as we do. I find psychology fascinating. I said to him maybe you can't come to grips with what you want. Josh there is so much insecurity and ignorance out there.  The same thing happens here in NYC were many in the African American community thinks whites don't understand African Americans. My African American friend  screams at me about this and says I am white so therefore, I will not understand. Josh, you are a good guy I can tell and sometimes we do our best to really go above and beyond to extend an olive branch and that's all we can do. Keep up the good word which is education.

The Respect for Marriage Act will be going up again. Write to your senators and district representatives telling to repeal it.

The Respect for Marriage Act will repeal DOMA allowing over 1,100 federal benefits to be given to same sex couples nationwide.

I believe if you keep and open heart and mind things will be ok. I do talk with the gay community. I have gone to gay bars because they have the best karaoke. I love karaoke. I love to sing cool songs he he

They are people like you and I. They are thankful  I listened. I try not to bring up politics at a gay bar. Yes repeal the Marriage act. Repeal DOMA.

I would like to see FLORIDA and TEXAS get gay rights as well all fifty states.

Florida and Texas need so much help in this country

WHile having all states recognize Same sex marriage is wonderful, it is simply not attainable. There is too much prejudice in the world.

We should repeal DOMA first. That way a same sex couple could get married at the federal level, even if their state bans it. It would increase the amount of marriages between same sex couples, make the GBT community stronger, and when enough states pass it, we can force states that don't want same sex marriage to accept it, like how Loving v. Virginia forced states to recognize interracial marriage.

lexikon are you gay?

I want to hear from a gay person on this?

From what I heard is so many gays want legal marriage. A Federal Law is not going to do anything if the state law does not recognize it.

I do strongly believe we should have gay marriage in all states.

If we keep going back and stay shallow we will become even  more a third world country.

Yes true, but if we have that what makes you think the states would comply. If there was Gay Marriage they can't deny it.

This can be  a great debate,.
